30 seconds – The Power of Words

How powerful are words?

They are so powerful one word can make you feel or think something that wasn’t there less than 30 seconds before. Let’s test just how powerful words can be……..

I can predict what you might think next. It’s true, I will show you now.

Did you think or say lamb?

If you did then you now know how powerful words can be, because you have just responded to only 4 words.

This is exactly what makes radio so powerful. Think of the theatre that occurs in your mind when you listen to podcasts. And we could go on but the reality is words connect and influence people. People interpret words with a relevance only to them.

It only takes 30 seconds to let someone know what you would like to share. In that 30 seconds they can learn and experience something that might make them think differently to what they were just a moment ago. Would you now agree?

Quite simply if you want to connect with people radio is a great place to start.

Welcome to 30 seconds – Reach or Frequency

( a 30 second read that could make a difference)

Reach or Frequency

Have you ever asked yourself the question…………which is more important to this campaign? Reach or frequency?

Unlike the chicken or the egg this question does have a relatively easy answer.

Firstly you need to identify if your campaign objective is to

  1. Grow brand/product or service awareness or
  2. Create a response through call to action messaging.

If you decide to assume an awareness approach then reach would be the priority. The more people that your ad touches, the more people that become aware of your message and ideally your brand/product or service.

On the other hand if you decide to run a campaign with an immediate return on investment, then frequency will be the priority, as you will need to convince people to act on your call to action. To increase frequency quickly drop your reach. A smaller group is easier to reach more often, particularly if you maintain the sessions they gather in.

Behavioural influence has been noted at frequencies between 3-4. Variations often occur due to factors such as value, availability, relevance, etc.
